Born in a tiny town of the then british India,GEORGE ORWELL, was raised in England and had had a decent academic life that prepared him to join the service(BRITISH IMPERIAL FORCE) that his father was a part of and that sent him to the capital city of Burma,RANGOON ,where he had lived for quite a couple of years gaining experiences that were to shape his views later to be incorporated into works like BURMESE DAYS, ANIMAL FARM, 1984 and many other critical essays on Polity,International Relations,Democracy,Imperialism,Communism n things like that !

Orwell’s second important engagement came around the late 30s of the last cent. When he had gone to SPAIN to participate in the SPANISH CIVIL WAR.

Orwell’s works inform a bleak world dominated by power drunk n power hungry people and the disastrous longterm impacts of the then considered power equations amongst the nations and also between various competetive ideologies !

Master of Satirical Outpours, Orwell Could Well Be Cited As The Most Competent Heir To Franz Kafka!

‘ANIMAL FARM’ and ‘1984’ are two of his most famous works And These Two Novels(the first being just a novella) Sold More Than The Combined Novels Of All The Novelists Of The 20th-Cent. . . .!
That Is Simply Awesome!

Surprisingly,ANIMAL FARM was turned down by the great poet, playwright n publisher, MR. T.S.ELIOT, who dismissed the said novel as something suitable for children n couldn’t be fit into the genre of novels !!

George Orwell Believed Eliot But Believed Himself More!

Somehow the novella reached to a NEW YORK based Publisher who took chance n went ahead. . . .!THAT WAS 1945 !
The Rest, As They Say, Is History. . . . . .RENEWING EVERY YEAR AND ON AND ON. . . . .!
