Alexander Solzhenitsyn Was The Greatest Novelist In 20th-Cent. Russian Literature. He Belongs To The Great Russian Tradition Of Novelists Like Tolstoy n Dostoevsky And His Writings Bear The Same Stamp Of Moral Concern For The Russian Society Plus Culture.

Born In A Suburb Of Moscow, Solzhenitsyn Couldn’t Get To See His Father Who Died In A Hunting Accident While His Mother Was Pregnant.His Mother Took A Great Care Of Solzhenitsyn And Provided For A Fair Education.Solzhenitsyn Graduated With Mathematics And Physics And Had Good Marks .
He Was Enrolled In The Red Army During The World War II.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn Was Arguably The Best Chronicler Of The Miseries And Mores Of The STALINIST ERA .
His Most Famous Book, THE GULAG ARCHIPELAGO, Is Considered As The Finest Depiction Of Forced Labor Camp Life During The Stalinist Regime In USSR.

Solzhenitsyn Spent 18yrs In Exile, Mostly In Some Rural Area In Vermont,USA.
After The Fall Of The USSR, Alexander Solzhenitsyn Returned To His Homeland And Was Warmly Welcomed And Hailed As The Conscience-Keeper Of Modern Post Cold War Russia.
Much To His Dismay, Alexander Solzhenitsyn Was Shocked To See An All Pervasive Imbalance Between The Materialism And The Spiritualism In The Russian Society n Culture !

He Died Of Some Heart Ailment or Stroke On 3 August, 2008 In Moscow, At The Age Of 90.

Solzhenitsyn Was Born On This Day, December 11 , 1918.
