DYLAN THOMAS,The Poet,Playwright,Short storywriter and broadcaster!
Famous for the musicality of his poems and excessive likings for whiskey, Dylan Thomas Is Now Considered(near unanimously) as one of the most important poets of english language in the first half of the last century!
Of course he was no eliot or auden ,yet,in the genre of romantic poetry writing in modern world he was a prominent voice without any doubt !
He became more famous when he had toured the united states in 1949 and had had many poetry readings across the states!
In fact he was amongst the major voices who had brought glamour and glitz to the practice of poetry readings!

‘DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT’ , ‘FERN HILL’ , ‘AND DEATH SHALL HAVE NO DOMINION’ are immortal poetry pieces that will make u fell in love with Dylan Thomas!
‘UNDER MILK WOOD’ is another important work (a play) of Dylan,famous for its comic realism.
‘A PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS A YOUNG DOG’ is his major shortstory collection.

His main themes were life,death and religion .His works showed a changing pattern in correspondence to his life.Earlier works show happier and childhood themes and later works took serious themes culminating into comic realism best reflected in his arguably most mature work, ‘UNDER MILK WOOD’.

His was a life of excesses and that cost him dearly.
Alcoholism struck its blow rather early and the poet died at the age of 39 at a hospital in New York on November 9, 1953.

Earlier There Were Diverse,rather Differing Opinions Regarding Dylan Thomas As A Writer,but,gradually,DYLAN’S Works excites newer interests and younger generations find him as a poet of great interest and his fans grow in number!
