SATYAJIT RAY, The Great Bengali/Indian Film-maker was born this day (2’May) in 1921 in North Calcutta .
Satyajit Ray was declared in BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL (1978) as ONE OF THE THREE GREATEST FILM MAKERS OF ALL TIME.
His Masterpiece called ‘APU TRILOGY’ won umpteen awards inside and outside India.SATYAJIT RAY WAS HONORED WITH A ‘LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT HONORARY OSCAR’ .
His very first film was PATHER PANCHALI or ‘THE SONG OF THE LITTLE ROAD’ which he somehow managed under extreme financial restraints with an aid from the state government and a team of all novice people including himself having no experiences of film making.
‘PATHER PANCHALI’ was premiered in NEW YORK too.
