AN AVALANCHE BURIED 124 PAKISTAN ARMY-MEN AND 11 CIVILIANS @SIACHEN ARMY STATION.

A VERY VERY SAD OCCURRENCE HAPPENED AT 6am morning when an AVALANCHE killed nearly 135 people that includes 124 army at SIACHEN BORDER situated at the height of 20 000 feet above the sea level,in the KARAKORAN-MOUNTAIN-RANGE OF THE NORTHERN(Kashmir) Himalayas!
The Avalance made a 80 feet down snow over one kilometre that had buried around 124 pakistani army-men and 11 civilians!
The said region is located above the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir and where INDIA N PAKISTAN KEEP A LARGE MILITARY PRESENCE DUE TO THE TERRITORIAL DISPUTES!
Both countries deploy somewhere between 10 000 to 20 000 army in order to protect the border over the last 5 decades!

SIACHEN IS THE HIGHEST BATTLEFIELD IN THE WORLD AND ALSO ONE OF THE MOST HOSTILE PLACE AS THERE REMAINS ON AN AVERAGE (-55) degree celsius temperature round the year!
A very costlier military post for both India n Pakistan, yet, very essential given the age-old bitter rivalery over the territory of Kashmir!

IN THE 64 YEARS HISTORY,SUCH CALAMITY NV OCCURRED IN EITHER OF SIDES!

Rescue hellicopters,sniff-dogs and other heavy engineering-equipments are working to recover the bodies. .but,no substantial headway in sight!

Another round of ‘peace-talk’ is to commence tomorrow when the pak-president Zardari will meet the Indian Prime-minister in New Delhi.
There has never been any success in such endeavours so far!
Let’s hope Peace Prevail this time that might also consider army draw-down from the inclement n frigid Siachen Army Station!
