SIR SALMAN RUSHDIE,THE SATANIC VERSES AND THE BAN IN INDIA.

RUSHDIE AUTHORED AROUND A DOZEN BOOKS AND,HE REMAINS CONTROVERSIAL AFTER ‘THE SATANIC-VERSES’,that he wrote in 1988 and,the book was declared as ‘BLASPHAMOUS’ by the fundamentalist faction amongst Muslims for the book allegedly contains some irreverential passages that refer to the Prophet and,the koranic-verses are depicted plus called as Satanic-Verses!
The book: ‘THE SATANIC-VERSES’ was banned in many countries. The ban is still in operation in 13 countries!INDIA IS ONE SUCH COUNTRY WHERE THE BOOK WAS BANNED EVEN BEFORE THE FAMOUS ‘FATWA’ ISSUED AGAINST THE AUTHOR IN 1989 BY THE SUPREME IRANIAN LEADER, AYATOLLAH KHOEMEINI!
The book: THE SATANIC VERSES is essentially a book of Immigrants’ Alienation,The Loss of Faith,Identity-Crisis and author’s own personal dilemmas. It is not a religious book that decries the fundamental tenets of Islam.
But, a section of muslims read a bitter mimickery n vitriolic criticism of Prophet and Islam and that is why they always raise a banner of protest against the author of the said book.
Artistic liberty gets subsided under the political maneuverings by the Indian Govt. Which is eyeing on the minority muslim vote banks as there is elections in the five provinces of India and by choosing to be silent, the congress party national govt. thinks that it could get mileage.
A SAD SAGA!INDIA EARNS BAD NAME WORLDWIDE!HOW CAN INDIA BE CALLED A LIBERAL SECULAR DEMOCRACY WHEN THERE IS NO VALUE OF FREE SPEECH AND RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS HOLDING INDIA TO RANSOM?
